First of all can you tell us something about yourself?
Hello there! My name is Michael, I’m 29 yo. PM user since September 2006 – almost 10 years. I lead Australia U21 team 3rd season in a row, in the past I managed many NTs and U21 NTs, like Poland, Scotland, Wales or Saudi Arabia. I am also manager of MKS Końskie, a team which won several international competitions in the past (Cup Winners League x1 and World Club Cup x2, still World Champions League waits for me). Who knows, maybe someday I will start a new project to get the missing trophy, but at this moment my team is focused on training young players for Australia U21 team.
In private life I work as tax advisor in the so-called global corporation, I am keen on running (2x half marathon so far) and eating pizza (This is probably why no full marathon is already done ;p).
This is the sixth edition of U21 Nations Cup. What do you think about this event?
I won’t be original here, but I think that U21 NC is great event, allowing not only play some interesting friendlies, but make friendlies round something more – as the competition is more advantageous when playing a whole tournament instead of single friendlies. In addition, I really like the way the U21 NC is organized – it looks very professional and it’s really nice to see that some people here still have willing to do great stuff and dedicate their free time to make it really good. Respect and thanks a lot for the tournament!
Your goals and expectations for the Nations Cup?
First of all, I want to go through the friendlies round in the way allowing Australia U21 be prepared for the qualification round. So I will for sure check some players I don’t know yet, verify tactics, look for exp for the players.Australia maybe does not have the largest community in the PM world which – as a result – limits the chances of pulling a bag of excellent players, but I really enjoy the way community supports the U21 team and I hope that together we may make some surprises with this team (one of them already was made last season, when Australia U21 get the promotion for the World Cup and managed to get 1st place in the WC group playing with Greece, Italy and Brazil) So, maybe the next surprise will be good result in the U21 NC?
Favourites to win Nations Cup?
Hard to say as there is many teams that can make it. For sure there are some huge favorites, like Portugal or Romania, but still other nations (such as for instance Hungary, France, Algeria, Argentina, Denmark… and many others) are not the underdogs and can get the final victory as well. We will see
Something else to add?
As said before, many thanks for the organization of the U21 NC. I hope everyone will have good fun playing in it

First of all can you tell us something about yourself?
Well,I am a student,in my late teenage years with a great love for football ,not in the playing itself(i suck at football :p) but watching and managing a team is what interests me most.(i could show you my bright and heavily filled FM CV):p
This is the third edition of U21-NC. For you is the second participation and it means an essential event on U21 friendly season planning?
Yeah,i must say its a very brilliant idea and is rewarded with the kind of attention paid to it from managers and the participating and non participating countries alike. And also it removes the hassle of arranging friendlies(i find that very hectic)
What do you think about your group?
Well what would i say about a group that includes great teams like Finland,England and Paraguay. Its a very difficult group and many may think we are favorites based on our ranking but i would say our ranking doesnt reflect the team's strenght.I say GOODLUCK to all.
Your goals for this edition?
Take each game as they come
Favorites to win this edition?
Australia :p
Expectations for the qualifying round?
We were close last term but choked on the last day ,preparing against an event like that now,I say World Cup here we come.
In real life we have the Euro soon. For you which are the favorites to win and expectations for this event also?
I think Germany or spain would win it ,i give The Netherlands a big shout too.they have a great team.
Something else to add?
Goodluck to everyone, lets remember the rules of the tournament and also a Very Big Applause to the Organisers of this prestigious tournament.

This is the second edition of Nations Cup. What do you think about this competition?

Australia was apart of the first edition and we had great fun and i believe it was a very successful competition. It gives that extra interest in the friendly season that we haven't had in the past.
Do you think that the opponents are suited to that you usually planed in the friendly matches?
We have a wide variety, which is what we usually do. I enjoy testing my side to see where we're at compared to the top sides and the sides below us.
What do you think about the rule of using only 3U21 players?
Great rule. I try to use as many U20 players as i can without risking losing ranking points, and this puts everyone in the same boat.
Your expectations for the Nations Cup?
At the present moment im looking to just use it to judge players for next season as i dont feel Australia is anywhere near what it was last campaign so i need to find a new balance.
And for the next qualifying rounds?
Gotta wait for the group before i set my expectations. If we get the right group i feel we can push into a qualification spot. If not, then it'll be quite a battle.
Favorites to win Nations Cup?
Australia ;) Na, most likely France if they can retain a team like last campaigns team.
Something else you want to add?
Just like to say good luck to everyone and hope we all enjoy the competition and that some smaller nations surpass everyones expectations.

This is the first edition of 16 Nations Cup. What do you think about this idea?
I think the idea is a great one. It gives a handful of nations some sort of competitive football leading up to the world cup qualifiers. It is great for us as a smaller nation to ensure that we will test ourselves against a few of the bigger teams and can then build our friendly season around that period. I’m happy that Australia will be represented in the 16 Nations Cup.
Do you think the cup could continue in future?
Definitely! If the demand is there, the cup will be provided and I am more than certain the demand will remain. Whether it changes in some form remains to be seen, but I think this idea is here to stay.
Expectations for the 16 Nations Cup?
For us, I think we have to be realistic. Joining up we were one of the smallest nations putting in our application, with a lot of top teams already set to participate. As a result, we don’t have huge expectations result wise. This was further confirmed once we drew the powerhouses of Spain and Portugal along with USA. I think for us, 3rd is achievable and would be deemed a success. As long as we are competitive and pick up some points, the community and I will be happy.
Favourites to win 16 Nations Cup?
There are a handful of very highly ranked teams participating in the cup and really I think anyone who makes it past the group stage could win it. However, I’m going to suggest that 23rd ranked Saudi are a big contender. They’ve had an average start to this season, but with the backing from the community I think they could be the potential winners here.
Any idea to see implemented in future editions of this cup?
As of this moment I don’t think there is much more to add. It would be good to see more teams participate in the future possibly and maybe even some official recognition of the cup. But until then I think the setup is good and will be successful.
Something else to add?
I’d like to say thanks to the organisers. They have put in a lot of effort to set this up and get the competition running, and it is good to see a group willing to get these sort of competitions starting up. Thanks a lot guys!

This is the first edition of 16 Nations Cup. What do you think about this idea?

The idea is great, well done to the Brazilian national team members and those associated with the idea. It will create some nice competition during the friendly season, which has been lacked. Should also keep the forum a bit more active due to the betting comps you guys have going.
Do you think the cup could continue in future?
Well, it's early to say how it will go, but if it goes according to plan, then definitely.
How they ran so far the friendly games of your team?
So far, 2 wins and 1 draw. Only disappointments were the lack of goals in the first game and the draw with New Zealand.
Expectations for the 16 Nations Cup?
Well we have a tough few weeks coming up, with the first two rounds being against Portugal and Spain before facing USA so a few upsets would be nice. We're expecting to be a difficult hurdle for the bigger teams to jump ;)
And for the qualifying rounds after this competition?
Well we're the highest pot. we've been in awhile so i'm hoping for an easier group then last campaign. Depending on who we get stuck with, i do believe we have one of the best chances Australia have had in a while.
Favourites to win 16 Nations Cup?
With last WC winners Turkey not in the competition, it's definitely a competition between Portugal, Spain and Brazil.
Any idea to see implemented in future editions of this cup?
Not at the moment, perhaps ask me after the cup is over.
Something else to add?
Good luck to all teams, and may this first edition be a great one.
