RANKING: #15

MANAGER: ROBERT DE VEEN

VII Edition of this event and what your's team expectations?
Not to lose any match, and if possible, win the throphy...

How it was so far your friendlies season?
3 x 0-0 : So silent, but satisfied…

What we all can expect from your team on next qualifying round?
Basicly, I do not want to lose any match… Let's see if I can hit the target or not...

Next season the VIII Edition of Nations Cup will come who knows with your National Team. Any suggestion to this tournament?
I have nothing to add to the basics of this tournement. Well done!

VI EDITION

RANKING: #26

PRESIDENT : LA-Frozen Penguin

U21 Nations Cup this season will be the Belgium Edition. As president of Belgium federation what you can say to all managers involved on this event?
I want to welcome all participating nations to Belgium for this edition of the Nations Cup. I'm glad there was once again such a massive interest in the Nations Cup. Also, we have the ambition to host the upcoming U21 World Cup, so for us it's a nice test for a few things, so we can be in optimal shape during the big event.
What is your opinion of this event and what expectations you have for your U21 National Team?
As mentioned before, it's great to have this event to give some meaning to the friendlies campaign, and avoid having to plan 8 friendlies as long as possible in advance. As some of you know, I'm in favour of changing the qualifying system to 8 groups of 8 teams to reduce friendlies to a minimum. As long as we don't have a similar system, Nations Cup is the best solution to keep interest for the friendlies. We have our best generation since many years, and an absolute top coach - so I'm counting on at least a top 4 spot for us. Of course having a top nation as Romania in the group won't make that too easy...
Favourites to win this edition?
In absence of the World Cup finalists, the top favourites would be Romania, Argentina & Portugal. Biggest outsiders are Hungary & Belgium, but both need to get past one of those top favourites in the group stage if they want to go for glory.
For the end can you tell us something about you?
In real life I'm a 38 year old man, married and proud dad of 2 fantastic kids. I'm quite fanatic aout football, even though I never played myself. Quite a lot of my free time goes into PM. In PM I'm proud about a number of records my Scheenschuppers have been breaking the past 6 seasons. Another one to add this season, is that I'm probably the first manager in PM to have simultaneously a team in the WCL & the CWL. Furthermore I'm very proud to have been able as Belgian president to contract various international top coaches to lead our national teams - it's not evident for them to sign a contract in a country that's subtop at best.

MANAGER : CurePT

First of all can you tell us something about yourself?

I'm living in Paris since a while and my passion is PM most particularly national teams. Because of that Nations Cup has "born".

Your goals and expectations for the Nations Cup?

High expectations because we play home and we have some few users who deserve that for their dedication to our U21 project. We will play to win..

Favourites to win Nations Cup?

If we have a good result against Romania we for sure will be one of that teams.

Something else to add?

Hope you all enjoy, have fun and valorise this event to continue in future.

II EDITION

RANKING: #13

PRESIDENT : Frozen Penguin

This is the second edition of Nations Cup. More teams, more fun expected for all. What are the reasons that made your team take part of this tournament?
Previous edition there was a bit of a quarrel between our communities caused by the elections for hosting the World Cup. This second edition gave us the opportunity to reach out our hands towards each other and let bygones be bygones. Both my U21 manager & myself agreed that it would be interesting to participate.
Furthermore, I was impressed by the way the first edition was organised. And I respect the fact that you go through the trouble of organising the whole thing again.
For you which will be a good result to your team?
With France in our group 2nd place in the group seems the highest possible result (and even that will be very hard to achieve due to strong opposition).
Favorites to win the Nations Cup?
Turkey, of course
Would you like to have and join in next editions of Nations Cup?
Sure. Looks like a fun addition to the friendly season (plus makes the friendly planning a lot easier for NT coach)
Something else to add?
How about a nations cup for A-teams, not just for U21?

MANAGER : odvej

This is the second edition of Nations Cup. What do you think about this competition?
It's a great competition. This cup gives extra importance to the friendly games.
Do you think that the opponents are suited to that you usually planed in the friendly matches?
I had planned that this friendly season I would play against big countries so that's good. But normally I prefer countries between spot 20 and 40 on the ranking. These are interesting games but Belgium is favorite in thes games. Now I hope that I can learn how to get a result against these big countries. With this generation it will be difficult, but the experience that I will gain will not be lost off course
What do you think about the rule of using only 3U21 players?
Very good rule and we can agree with our oponent to change this rule so no problem for me here
Your expectations for the Nations Cup?
I hope to finish 3th in my group, it will be difficult but I don't want to be the last one;)
And for the next qualifying rounds?
Next round wil be a team from group A. This will be almost impossible to win and after that round we will see.
Favorites to win Nations Cup?
The country who is allways the biggest favorite: Turkey U21
Something else you want to add?
Yeah really great job by organising this tournament CurePT ;)
